Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

MikeTech Services is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or voice control. Accessibility is not a feature we added at the end; it is part of how the site is built.

The standard we work to

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That standard is also the reference point used under the Americans with Disabilities Act and California's Unruh Civil Rights Act.

What we have done

  • Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone, and the focused element is always visibly outlined.
  • A "Skip to main content" link is the first thing a keyboard or screen reader user reaches.
  • Headings are in a real hierarchy, one H1 per page, so screen readers can navigate by structure.
  • Text meets or exceeds the 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background.
  • Every form field has a visible, permanently associated label. We do not rely on placeholder text.
  • Images that carry meaning have descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • The site is built with semantic HTML, and works with JavaScript disabled.
  • Animation is minimal, and is disabled entirely for visitors whose system requests reduced motion.
  • Text can be resized to 200% without loss of content or function, and the layout reflows to narrow screens.
  • Link text describes where the link goes. We do not use "click here".

Known limitations

Where we embed a map from Google, that map is provided by a third party and we do not control its accessibility. Our address and phone number are always available as plain text next to it, so no information is only available inside the map.

Assessment

This site is assessed by a combination of automated testing and manual keyboard and screen reader checks. We review accessibility whenever we add a new section to the site.
